How do you managed to tether MBUX to your phone??
It’s only part of the FUP4 update which has the same label as the FUP3 version to confuse us a bit haha.

FUP4 adds the ability to connect to WiFi or Bluetooth using hotspot under the settings for the wlan and bluetooth section in the mbux settings.

It is possible to force this coding on FUP3 using DTS Monaco as well but will break the voice assistant and live traffic - so rather best to have it given by the system itself.

My Mbux was updated yesterday automatically, but nothing new. I have a w177 but i don't now the FUP version that I have.

My update has not enabled the WIFI and Bluetooth connection so I think it is the 081 but FUP3, but why the upgrade??
 
Mine was auto updated a couple of days ago. Due to the c*ck up of the last one (October 2022) I'm not expecting miracles this time.
I've really had it with Mercedes me - the last four or so emails I've sent with queries on their software have been totally ignored - even after me asking them to 'please will somebody respond this time?'. I also phoned them months ago and was promised that a new ticket would be opened and 'I'd be kept up to date on the progress'..... Hmmmm, never gonna happen methinks.
My next car will not be a Mercedes.

Frequently going offline so that the app can’t connect to the car. All this was supposed to be fixed last year after I paid my dealer £100 to do it. Now silence. It’s **** annoying! I was so happy with my car when I bought it but it now squeaks and rattles like a bike I had in the 60’s.
Rant over - but it’s the being ignored that does it for me. Bad customer service.

Can confirm a similar situation with my vehicle and the Mercedes Me support service. They have a backlog which has been a couple of months of emails - seems a very downscaled department for this. I would previously have sent emails and received really basic non-relevant responses about a month or so later. The actual phone support just advised me to book it with a dealership. Seems like paying for smartphone integration and not having it activated for over four months is a consensus for a refund; not with Mercedes. Ended up DIYing various codings which the end user should never never have to do.

Eventually, I decided if the car is out of warranty - I might as well mess around with Xentry, and DTS Monaco and figure out how to resolve it. In addition, was able to unlock a lot of features and fix the HERMES module, although my system has been stuck on FreshUp3_4, I know FreshUp3_7 exists and FreshUp4, probably won't ever get the OTA.

If it was me, I'd keep the car offline with the non-functional HERMES module, activate carplay etc and let them do one. If there was a license fee associated with activating CarPlay - it seems that it is just a variant coding option unlocked (which the system will check online for the relevant params - and reapply the deactivation if done offline). If this is the case, well MB has certainly paid for the license when building each head-unit...

If anything the app doesn't sort out the issues with the car, mine is very bumpy compared to previous hatchbacks I've been on as well! Though I like the ride and the tech just not the noise :LOL:
 
Mine updated today. Had notification saying it needed 15 minutes to do it then by the time I completed my return journey it had installed.

And they are not going to re-write the code to accommodate the 10.25” screens.
You have a point there.
And yes, its more work for mercedes. But I think it must be almost copy/paste from the NTG7 to the NTG6, with only a few modifications to work on both screen sizes.
Its a shame to have a 10.25'' screen and a 7'' carplay.

For the Money what a Mercedes costs, Mercedes should modify the code and do a lot more for there clients, what I feel is the customer comes always in second place. This is my first Mercedes and for surre my last. What a disappointment.

Why do they allow full-screen functionality through CarLife though on NTG6 with the 10.25' screen? My plan on how to change CarPlay to full screen in...

CarLife after the FUP3 update allows full-screen functionality when set using the 1280x720 resolution. The reasoning some people mentioned about temperature controls - well they come visible as an overlay when clicked and hidden again.

I still cannot see the reasons for the cropped screen - my only thinking behind it is that some specific regions like Japan do not include the 7' screen at all, which is why CarLife allows for full-screen resolutions, as it was designed in mind for those regions.

I have been trying to activate Carlife on my car so I can purchase a Carlife to Carplay wireless dongle, but unable to do this as it is the same usual remote activation required. I'm thinking of setting the parameter in DTS and disabling the HERMES connection but I do recall the mechanic forums saying it isn't possible and they used some special CAN-filter device to manipulate these functions.
