Perfect, thanks for the info. Do you think that it will affect that because I didn't get it directly from a MB dealership?

Also thinking about it, because I got it form a BMW dealership in the group, he was unaware of the 2 year warranty on AMG models.

Not sure, but at least you now have evidence of the fact when speaking to MB warranty, and the supplying dealer is part of the same group.

Not buying from an MB dealership will be the stumbling block. I would guess MB also charge more for their used cars in order to cover the additional year's insurance for the warranty. So you will have probably got a better price for your A35 buying it the way you did.

It was in the same Sytner group so they could have seen this car in their inventory if I had asked. Salesman I spoke to in Cheltenham when I test drove an A35 there, knew I had bought mine from Sunningdale when I visited the dealership for a recall and software update, so it had obviously shown up on some group sales figures. What I'm saying really is that I could have bought it from Cheltenham if I wanted too, so that should count as the same.....I hope!!

Hi Nim,
Picked up my A35 and on way hom car went into limp mode .MB technician said car loosing pressure in cyclinder 1. They got
My car and said they are replacing the head . They also said there’s been a few faults
With pressure loss on the A35s. Only driven it for 20 minutes 😡
What was your outcome and how
Long did you wait ?
I am actually having problem with the car going in limp mode and turbocharger completely taken out. The problem goes away if I turn off the car but it comes back after few minutes

It sounds very much like the cylinder problem many others have suffered here.

Out of interest, as you are in a very hot country, Saudi Arabia, how high do your temperature gauges go. Many with A35's run at over 100C even in the UK.

The MB where I left the car have no idea on how to fix it and they asked the factory what to check.
They told them to check the compression on all of the cylinder, I did already changed turbo actuator and both MAF and MAP, regarding the temperature yes it's running most of the time over 100C

They sound as though they will need handholding. If you look back through this thread, there is a lot of detail on what they need to do. I would show the relevant posts to them.

What's your mileage. It sounds like a fob off, where they didn't measure the pressure properly. It almost certainly is the cylinder heads.

New poster. Early ‘21 plate A35 with circa 12k miles on the clock Currently in at MB Tonbridge. Went into limp mode with a flashing engine light. Been told it’s the cylinder head and parts are available and they’ll fix it asap, likely 3-5 days. Seems fast but I can’t complain. But I can’t understand how it’s ok for the CH to go on such a new and modern car?! Has anyone got a part list from MB once repaired of what’s been replaced? Has their warranty been extended on the back of the repairs? Thanks

One of guys affected did the repair himself and has posted the specs on here. I can’t remember whether it was on this thread or separately. But a quick search will take you to the details.

I have a 2021 MB A35 AMG…13k miles....long story short..
Car was idling roughly and when driving was acting like the turbo had a stuck wastegate. Took the car to Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach Ca..and guess what……blown cylinder head. I had taken he car in on Thursday around noon, diagnosed it on Friday, orders parts and had it back to me Tuesday afternoon.

I asked the service advisor if this was a common issue with these cars….(you know Fletcher Jonesis the largest MB dealer in the world)…..said shehad never seen it and asan obvious fluke….showed her this web site and her jaw dropped.

FJ is wonderful, but given this type of issue, not so sure I would buy MB again…. They really need to give their consumer some piece of mind…..this is just sad and disappointing in every way possible….

I agree it is very disappointing that MB has let this fault continue without a general recall. It of course never should have happened but these things do even for premium brands, as those of us who had the original A45 found out. But even with a blown turbo the car was fabulous before and after the turbo being fixed. Hopefully it will be the same for you with the A35.

When you said it was looking like you had a stuck wastegate, was doing it all the time or after a while you were driving?

After the Yellow Engine light was on, when the accelerator was depressed, the engine torque output was either all or nothing. As soon as you tapped the pedel you had max torque. No ramp up or lag, just straight to output.
